Oh, the very best day of their 3rd grade lives has finally arrived! The anoles have made their long awaited appearance. Thanks to Mrs. Dellwo
(the brave one) and a few wonderful helpers our anoles made their way into the terrariums on Thursday night. Upon arriving on Friday morning the kids saw covered boxes and the excitement in the air was something else. Needless to say I scheduled science all morning so they did not fall over with excitement waiting until our typical afternoon science time. We did take some time to talk about the anoles first.
After trying my best to teach them all they needed to know as they bounced like crazy on their stability balls, I finally decided to let the fun begin...

We determined all of the classroom anoles are male. Ask your kiddo what they named theirs. |

Observation time |
I look forward to the next week while students have the opportunity to learn about the life cycle. We did get lucky enough to get anole who is molting. (That rarely happens!)
I would also like to thank our WONDERFUL Wyoming PTA for the funds to purchase classroom books. I was able to order SO MANY new books for the classroom that the kiddos got the pleasure of checking out today. (Thanks to Mrs. B for taking an afternoon to level and tape them up!)

Our growing classroom guided reading library |
We have NWEA testing next Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. I will also be doing guided reading leveling on Wednesday as well. Our LAST theme test of the year will also take place next week. Yikes...tis' the testing season!
