Week Three!

It is now week three and this is the first time I have had a moment to update the blog.  We sure have been busy in class! In the past three weeks we have written and created our classroom constitution based on RESPECT, gotten to know each other and our different communities, and have explored the daylights out of place value.

Together we learned that our words are a lot like a tube of toothpaste. Once we say something we cannot get it back into the tube.  This is always a great visual for kiddos.

The class has had an opportunity to make words using our classroom boggle board.  This is a great skill for increasing students word work skills during our Daily 5 time.

Our first art project is completed and hung up.  This project focused on how each person is unique and one of a kind. Each student was given a quarter circle to decorate.  We then hung the quarter circles together to make complete circles.  The lesson stressed that even though we are all different and unique, that we can also fit and work together.

Lesson introduction- Thanks Pinterest for the idea!

Have a great week!
