What is new...

Well....Lots and lots of singing. I have discovered that our 34 third grade cuties all work very hard and stay on task when they can sing along to music. Their voices sound quite nice actually. My son's Kids Bop CD's have been playing during some of our working times, and it has been GREAT!  We have created some wonderful fall leaves and scarecrows to begin our fall hallway during this time!

During our literacy time we have been working very hard to incorporate The Daily Five components-Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing and Listening. We started out with reading to self component. Yes, really reading not just sitting there twirling your hair, turning pages, looking at the clock reading. We have scoured the classroom library to find good fitting books. 

We have also been reading to someone or partner reading. We have a special way that we have to sit when we partner read- EEKK! Ask you kiddo all about it, and why we have to sit this way.

Lastly we are just trying to continue to learn about each other and what makes us ...
