I was so excited to finally see the list of my new third graders in the mail this afternoon! This is always such an exciting time for me. I have been teaching for a LONG time now, and it still gives me butterflies when it comes to starting a new school year! I have had such a wonderful summer. It has been busy and fun. I love hot weather, but it was even a bit too warm for me at times! For my new readers who just found out that I am your teacher next year...WELCOME! A little about me: I have been teaching for FOURTEEN years! I have taught third, fourth and fifth grades in North Saint Paul, Oakdale, Forest Lake and Wyoming! I have been married to a pretty cool guy named Eric for 10 years. I have two silly boys named Alex and Aiden. Alex is going to be a 3rd grader this year at Brimhall Elementary. Aiden is going to be 4 on August 25th. (He stole my birthday...I guess he was a pretty wonderful gift to get on my 31st birthday!)

Aiden- Almost 4 |
Eric (He loves school cheeseburgers so he will come in and have lunch with you guys sometimes!) |
I really love nature! I grew up on a farm in Scandia, and still love to go there! My parents have a lot of fun animals. It may sound strange, but there is one part of nature that scares the daylights out of me. FROGS!!!! Ugghhhhh! I really am not a fan! ( I can probably blame my 3 brothers for that...) I have 1 sister who is a teacher, a brother who runs a HUGE ranch in the state of Wyoming, (He was a former bull rider), a brother who lives in North Pole, Alaska, and a brother who is a park ranger in Wisconsin.
I love gardens. I have a LOT of flower gardens, and a small vegetable garden at my home in Roseville. My favorite flowers are sunflowers and daisies! I have a bunch growing!
I tried something new this year called bale gardening and it has been very fun! I have been growing carrots, radishes, lettuce and cucumbers out of straw bales! I also have lots of herbs, tomatoes and peppers too!
Tiny baby carrots! |
I have 2 dogs and a cat! My dog Elsie is a Yorkie-Poo! She is a STINKER! She is 1 and 1/2.
Stanley is a Puggle! He is 5 and really likes to chase all of the rabbits that try to eat my garden.
Our cat Sam is 13, and is the sweetest old cat around! His favorite person in the whole world is me, and constantly wants to snuggle!
I have been so busy this summer painting everything in sight...bedrooms, trim, doors, projects for the classroom and soon enough our new shed once it is finished and the old one is tore down!
This summer I traveled to New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Wisconsin. It was sure fun!
