Finished products

Finally...some after and during pictures of our classroom tropical bird project.

The kids also spent some time creating dioramas to go along with a story that we read called
Happy Birthday Mr. Kang.

Lastly, we took our ONLY field trip of the year.
(Due to the huge number of students in 3rd grade many locations cannot manage programs for 100+ kids, and the bussing costs for two separate days was NOT an option. )

We went to Wargo Nature Center in Lino Lakes. http://www.anokacountyparks.com/parks/wargo_nature_center/about.html
We studied Native Americans this year with Mrs. Eggebraaten. (Who is well on her way to being an amazing teacher, as well as Wargo's Lead Naturalist!) We learned all about a few different tribes, storytelling using symbols since they have no written language like we do, games they played for fun and skill, animals they hunted and products taken from the Earth to survive and flourish.

Only 7 more days of school left, and MURALS to paint to welcome next year's class of 3rd graders.
