Growing Things

Room 126 sure is sprouting... literally! In science we are in the middle of our diversity of life unit. This is always a favorite of the kids.  We have been focusing on plants right now.  The class experimented and learned that seeds DO NOT need light to sprout or germinate.  They have also been learning about parts of seeds and flowers.  We dissected flowers and they sure had fun!! 


We have also planted our seeds and terrariums, and boy oh boy...they are growing like weeds! (Or grass, peas and clover for that matter!) Next, we will begin to explore crickets and the the role they play in the life cycle. (Anole food...YUCK!)

We have also been enjoying some new books in our literature circles! It is amazing what great readers they have become this year.
