Science...Living Things

We have started a new unit in science.  This seems to be the favorite science unit among all third graders in the 1,000 years I have taught it.  Students have started learning about living vs. non-living things.  Next week we will explore Earthworms.  After that comes dissecting flowers, learning about seeds and parts of a seed, planting terrariums, learning and exploring crickets, and then the grand finale...Anoles! The Anoles are these "lovely" little lizards that increase my heart rate to dangerous levels.  The class will have a week to observe them in the terrarium habitat before we send them off to the science center for the next round of kiddos.  (This is a change from the past where we were the last school to get them, so they could be adopted by our students!)
