As part of our morning literacy time students have opportunities to work on writing, do word work, listen to reading, read to self, read to someone and participate in guided reading groups. These components make up part of our daily literacy schedule.
During small group instruction students read literature that is at a reading level comparable to their independent reading level. After finishing a page students discuss what they heard the other reader read in order to help increase their reading comprehension.

Guided reading books |
My favorite part of the day is read aloud! We just finished a book that the class LOVED! I intentionally stopped at the best parts each day to get them hooked! It was a success!
Our books bins are stocked! Here is also a great website to check out with your kiddo.
Happy Reading!
